School of Engineering and Applied Science Photograph Collection
Most images are of the various academic departments within the School of Engineering and Applied Science. A small section of images document other schools and programs at Washington University, including the Women’s Society and exhibitions at Olin Library.
Department of English, Student Plays Collection
This collection includes students’ plays written for English classes between 1923 and 1961.
Environmental Response Records
This collection documents the activities of the Environmental Response organization. Material includes organizational correspondence, policy statements and activities, brochures and posters, and project information.
A small group of material in the collection unrelated to Environmental Response is a folder on the Association of Black Collegians. This significant material deals with a sit-in at Brookings Hall in 1968, and includes a copy of the protestors’ Manifesto.
Facilities Planning and Management Records
Materials in this collection include photographs and slides documenting construction, renovation, and infrastructure projects on campus, and were predominantly taken by Facilities personnel. Most of Series 03 consists of planning documents from outside architectural or engineering firms contracted by the University.
Fashion Design Program Records
The Fashion Design Program is part of the Sam Fox School of Desgin and Visual Arts. This collection includes binders documenting fashion shows and student designs, as well as VHS recordings of fashion shows from 1988-2005, and a series of DVDs and CDs of images and video of fashion designs and annual shows.
Department of Geography Records
This collection is comprised of correspondence, memos and reports that chronicle the administration of the Geography Department from 1946-1956.
Graduate Institute of Economics and Government Records
Fred R. Hammond Collection
The Fred R. Hammond Collection includes drawings, photographs, and other images of architectural projects built on the Washington University Campus by the firm of Hammond, Charle, Burns and Le Pere, Architects and Planners, as well as its predecessor firms including Cope and Stewardson. Of particular interest is a notebook of sketches and photographs of gargoyles from across the Washington University Danforth Campus.
Washington University Instruction Center Records
This collection includes administrative papers, memos, reports, and studies for Washington University’s Instruction Center, dating from 1968-1973.
Language and Literature Club Collection
Includes minutes kept by the club and essays.
