Black Manifesto Collection
This collection contains the Black Position Paper of 1968, the Black Manifesto of 1968, and correspondence with Chancellor Thomas H. Eliot concerning these documents and goals. Also included are documents relating the Brookings protest and other documents created by the student group. The collection also contains documents detailing action taken in 1978 and 1998 by the Association of Black Students and the administrators of Washington University.
Robert G. Dixon, Jr. Papers
This collection includes correspondence regarding student unrest and court case Belk vs. Eliot. It also includes syllabi, outlines, notes, and tests from courses taught by Robert G. Dixon, Jr. at Washington University.
Environmental Response Records
This collection documents the activities of the Environmental Response organization. Material includes organizational correspondence, policy statements and activities, brochures and posters, and project information.
A small group of material in the collection unrelated to Environmental Response is a folder on the Association of Black Collegians. This significant material deals with a sit-in at Brookings Hall in 1968, and includes a copy of the protestors’ Manifesto.
Linda Kahn Collection
The Linda Kahn Papers document Kahn’s student activism at Washington University during the late 1960s. Materials include issues of Student Life, newspaper clippings, and anti-Vietnam War leaflets issued by the Washington University student group, Canvas for Peace, as well as from her semester abroad in London.
