Obv: Portrait of Thomas Jefferson with the inscription "Th. Jefferson President of the U.S. A.D. 1801" centered along the border of the medal. Rev: Features the "Peace and Friendship" symbol with two hands clasped in a token of amity; on the cuff of the left wrist three stripes and three buttons; the other wrist bears a wristband ornamented by an eagle; above the hands, a pipe of peace and a tomahawk crossed. 19th century restrike issue.
