Biographical Information

Joan Vivion Henry (July 25, 1909-July 1983) was a poet and English teacher at Kirkwood High School. In 1943 she joined the Women's Army Signal Corps as a private. She earned her bachelor and master's degrees from Washington University (her 1951 thesis was on the 19th century New England reformer Orestes A. Brownson). Henry also served as assistant at the Washington University English department.
