Biographical Information

Consider Sterry (October 5, 1761 – November 15, 1817) was an American mathematician born in Preston, Connecticut. He edited and published with his brother John, The True Republican, a leading organ of the old Jeffersonian party. He also published a number of books including, The American Youth: Being a New and Complete Course of Introductory Mathematics: Designed for the Use of Private Students (1790) and A Complete Exercise Book, in Arithmetic: Designed for the Use of Schools in the United States (1795).
