Kay Boyle Collection
Includes 6-page transcript from Kay Boyle's Senate loyalty hearings during the McCarthy era; manuscript draft of a letter from Boyle to Samuel Beckett (2 sheets); two letters from Kenneth Burke to Boyle (including one with photocopied letter from Mona Van Duyn to Burke on verso); one letter from Evan Connell to Boyle; and one letter from Alexandra Pringle at Virago Press in London to Boyle (with Boyle's manuscript annotations).
William Hooker Letter
Autograph letter signed from Hooker to "My good frind and correspondent," offering Christmas greetings and inquiring about family. Mr. Hooker complains of his gout but resolves to bear the affliction patiently, for God alone is the "great physician of all souls." He also speculates that the French theaten to declare war any day, waiting to lull the British into complacency before striking. 2 pages.

Haniel Long Notebook
Notebook of Long poems. Notebook is a small tan binder, with Long's bookplate and a sticker annotated, "Poems at work on 1942 (copy left with [Heari] Haniel." Contains 11 pages in typescript, corrected; 6 pages in manuscript (3 are fragments pasted in); 20 pages uncorrected carbon typescript, 37 pages. Laid in are 1 page typescript and 1 page typescript carbon. Enclosed is a 5x7" black and white photograph of Long, circa age 70
James H. Shields Manuscript
Autograph manuscript of a speech delivered by Shields on the occasion of the reburial in a stone sarcophagus of the remains of Julien Dubuque, first white settler in Iowa. 16 pages
