Biographical Information
Thomas Hopkinson Eliot (1907-1991) was the 12th chancellor of Washington University, serving from 1962-1971. A graduate of Harvard University in 1928 and its law school in 1932, he came to the University in 1952 as chairman of political science, becoming dean of the College of Liberal Arts, vice chancellor, and dean of faculties in 1962, and chancellor in 1962.
