Historical Information

The Carcinogen Information Program began in circa 1978 with grant funding from the Levinson Foundation and was based at the Center for the Biology of Natural Systems at Washington University, headed by Barry Commoner, Professor of Biology. When the Center moved to New York in 1981, the Carcinogen Information Program became an independent entity, headquartered at Webster University. The Center folded in1983, when funding to continue its operation became unavailable.
