Historical Information

On October 2, 2008, Washington University hosted the only Vice Presidential Debate between Senator Joseph R. Biden, Jr. and Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin. The debate was televised nationally. The University previously hosted three Presidential Debates in 1992, 2000, and 2004 and was scheduled to host a 1996 debate which was later cancelled.

This collection is arranged by material type and topic.

Box one contains Washington University Publications including information on the Debate and Debate posters. Box two contains media kit information on flashdrives and CDs, and CDs of news coverage of the debate and Debate website. Box three includes paper press kits, tour guide information, material documenting WU Events Related to Vice Presidential Debate, and more. Box four contains Vice Presidential Debate Souvenirs sold at the WU Campus Store. Box five contains Vice Presidential Debate Souvenirs. Box six contains Vice Presidential Debate Souvenirs produced by Washington University.
