Historical Information

Women and the Kemper was founded jointly in 2009 by the Woman’s Club of Washington University, the Women’s Society of Washington University and the Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum in recognition of the 100th anniversary of the Woman’s Club.

Women and the Kemper is a membership special interest group open to all museum members. Participants in Women and the Kemper enjoy opportunities to learn about and encourage women’s participation in the visual arts through engagement with the programs and resources at the Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum. The group offers a range of educational and social activities, such as study groups on art-related topics and an annual fall luncheon.
