Historical Information
On February 22, 1853, Missouri Governor Sterling Price signed into law the Charter incorporating Eliot Seminary, later Washington University. The university celebrated its 150th anniversary during the 2003 – 2004 school year with a large birthday party, exhibits at various schools, and other special events.
