Historical Information

The 75^th anniversary of Washington University was celebrated in two different years. On February 22, 1853, Missouri Governor Sterling Price signed into law the Charter incorporating Eliot Seminary, later Washington University. So in 1928, the University had a celebration to commemorate the 75^th year since the incorporation. On April 22, 1857, Washington University held its inaugural celebration. So in 1932, The University had a celebration to commemorate the 75^th year since the inauguration.
