Biographical or Historical Information

Fred Green Carpenter (1882-1965) was a student and later an instructor of art at the St. Louis School of Fine Arts at Washington University. A noted painter, Carpenter won several national and international awards during his illustrious career.

This material was donated to the Washington University Archives by the family of Fred Green Carpenter in 1967. The collection was transferred to the Modern Graphic History Library in 2011.
