Historical Information
The St. Louis World’s Fair (officially known as the Louisiana Fair Exposition) was held from April 30 to December 1, 1904 in Forest Park and on the grounds of Washington University. Alumni and board members were among the 118 directors who had organized and backed the fair under the leadership of David Rowland Francis. The newly built University Hall served as Fair headquarters and the University’s athletic complex hosted the 1904 Olympics.
