Nelson I. Wu Collection
Late Nelson Ikon Wu, was the Edward Mallinckrodt Distinguished University Professor of the History of Art and Chinese Culture in Arts & Sciences at Washington University, an internationally recognized scholar of Asian art and architecture. Professor Nelson Ikon Wu and his family donated this Nelson I. Wu personal collection to Washington University Libraries in 2001 and 2005. This collection includes books and journals in Chinese and Japanese art history, architecture, history, language and literature, philosophy, Buddhism and other subjects. All the donated monographes in the collection can be accessed through the search of “Gift of Nelson I. Wu” in the WU Libraries’ online catalog. Most Chinese and Japanese books are shelved in the East Asian Library, and western language books are shelved in the Olin Library. There are several archival materials such as museum catalogues, journal articles, brochures, etc.
Washington University Libraries also acquired several monographic sets with the “Nelson I. and Mu-lien H. Wu Memorial Book Fund”, which can be accessed through the search of “Nelson I. and Mu-lien H. Wu Memorial Book Fund” in the WU Libraries’ online catalog.
